The Center for Legislative Impact Assessment is a Bulgarian independent non-governmental organization of expert type, established in 2011, which carries out its activities for the public benefit.
The mission of the Center is to promote the introduction of the rules of good governance, better legislation and smart legal regulation in Bulgaria and to popularize the principle "The less, the more" in the field of legislation.
The main objectives of the Center are related to promoting the introduction of good European practices and standards for legislative impact assessment as a mandatory mechanism in the development, discussion, adoption, compliance and implementation of regulatory acts in Bulgaria.
The organization has a three-tier organizational structure with a collective supreme body - the Board of Trustees, a sole managing body - the Chairman and an expert body - the Advisory Council.
RIAsource center
The portal responds to the need for a new and innovative source of specific knowledge and skills in the field of regulatory reform and legislative impact assessment in Bulgaria. It functions as a resource center for knowledge and expertise and allows for feedback from its users. The RIAcentre portal was created under the Project “Legislative Impact Assessment – a key mechanism for promoting evidence-based decision-making in Bulgaria”, which was implemented with the financial support of the Swiss Confederation through the Partnership Fund and expert assistance from the Centre for Legislative Impact Assessment in partnership with the Swiss Institute for Postgraduate Training in Public Administration at the University of Lausanne.
