On 21 and 22 October 2016 the Institute of Public Administration organized a seminar “Impact Assessment – Bulgarian and international experience in the evaluation of public policies” as part of the preparation of the country for adoption of the impact assessment mechanism, becoming obligatory from November 4, 2016.
The participants were welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister for Coalition Policy and Public Administration and Minister of Interior Rumiana Bachvarova. They were familiarized with the willingness of the administration of the Council of Ministers to start the process of carrying out impact assessments from Mr. Krasimir Bojanov – Director of the “Modernization of Administration” Directorate.
The Center for RIA, represented by its chairman Tony Dimov had the chance to present the process of adoption and implementation of Impact Assessment in Bulgaria, as well as the challenges and perspective after November 4, 2016
Representatives from the Better Regulation Executive and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy of the United Kingdom presented the UK practices in carrying out Impact Assessment. Practical aspects and good practices in the ex-post Impact Assessment system of the European Parliament were also presented at the seminar.
